As we are in the final quarter of 2015, we are reflecting on the busy year at Kohn Law Firm.  We have added some new faces in the litigation department over the past year:  Vincent Bauer and Lucas Bennewitz.

Vince concentrates his practice on litigation involving credit cards, loans and outstanding medical bills.  He graduated from Marquette University Law School, cum laude, in 2011.  Vince obtained a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.  Before joining Kohn Law Firm, he was in private practice handling criminal law matters.  Vince is a huge fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Marquette Basketball.  When he is not practicing law, he can be found working out at the gym.

Luke joined the Litigation Group in August 2015.  Luke is a recent graduate of Marquette University Law School.  Prior to joining the firm, he gained valuable courtroom experience working as a prosecutor for the Waukesha District Attorney’s Office.  Luke attended Carroll University in Wisconsin and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics with minors in Communications and History.  His practice will primarily be concentrated on handling credit card and loan litigation.  Luke is an avid runner and has completed ten marathons.  His most recent marathon was at the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon.

Given that the firm practices in the entire state of Wisconsin, both Vince and Luke travel to a number of court calendars and other appearances throughout the state.  We appreciate the contributions that both Vince and Luke are making to the Litigation Group and we look forward to a successful 2016.

Kohn Law Firm recently split out some of our collection management duties among two experienced management team members.  Many of our clients have met Scott Makkos at NARCA client meetings.  His management has been segregated into Collection Manager – Performance Analytics.  His counterpart is Samantha Gaspardo who has assumed the role of Collection Manager – People and Processes.

Kohn Law Firm is very pleased to have been the recipient of NARCA’s 2015 Community Service Award.  While the firm is often recognized for performance and compliance by our clients, this award has a special meaning, as it was earned by our entire staff in their commitment and contributions to community charities through paid service hours, projects and donations.  NARCA donated $1000 in the firm’s name to the Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee, as the firm’s chosen charity to receive the award.  The firm has continued this year supporting events through the American Heart Association (as a gold fit friendly workplace), the Hunger Task Force, Make a Difference Wisconsin, and the Journey House.  The mission of Make a Difference Milwaukee fits in with our commitment to positive consumer experiences:  “The Make a Difference – Wisconsin mission is to provide financial literacy programs and resources that empower students to make sound financial decisions. Our vision is to build strong communities where students and their families make informed financial decisions and take control of their financial future. “
