Brenda A. Majewski

Director of Operations

Brenda Majewski is the firm's Director of Operations and manages the overall operations of the firm. She is a member of the International and Wisconsin Association of Legal Administrators, having served three terms as state President. She was WALA's first recipient of its President's Award of Excellence. She has served on vendor relations, diversity, state bar and newsletter committees. Her activities at the national level have included ALA's Multicultural Committee, Vendor Relations Committee, regional speaker and judge for many of the chapter awards programs. She was a member of the Commercial Law League of America, chairing regional and national committees, and was the 2012 recipient of the CLLA’s prestigious President’s Cup. She is an active participant in the firm’s National Association of Retail Collection Attorney’s membership, receiving the 2014 President’s Award.

Brenda is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to law firm management in the collection industry. She attended Milwaukee Area Technical College and has a Certificate in Management from Marquette University. Scott Makkos
Performance Analyst

Scott Makkos is the firm’s Performance Analyst Manager. Scott had over 10 years of collection experience with KLF prior to his promotion to Collection Manager, and now to Performance Analyst. Scott assumed a team lead role after his first year at the firm, and then was promoted to Supervisor. He served many years supervising credit card, loan, municipal and medical collection teams and efforts. Scott is a regular firm attendee at NARCA meetings, and spoke at the 2015 conference. Scott has a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in mathematics.

Samantha Gaspardo
Collection Manager

Samantha Gaspardo is the firm’s Personnel and Processes Manager for the Collection Department. Samantha had over six years of experience with KLF prior to her recent promotion to a Collection Manager: in the firm’s Support Department; answering phones, preparing legal documents for service, and reporting collector performance; in the Collection Department documenting correspondence received by the firm before assuming an assistant to the Collection Manager position. After working as the manager’s assistant, Samantha was promoted to be the Collection Department Trainer and floor supervisor and then the Assistant Collection Manager. She has recently taken on the role of Collection Manager of Personnel and Processes. Samantha is involved in and chairs many of the firm’s community service initiatives. Samantha graduated with honors and earned a B.S. from Carroll University in 2009.

Annie Bilow-Cantrell

Office Manager

Annie manages the Support Department staff at KLF. This department is responsible for all reception, inventory and records management functions of the firm. Annie also assists with the initial hiring and training of new staff, conducting full background checks and reference verifications. She attends meetings of the Wisconsin Association of Legal Administrators when they are human resource based.

She has a paralegal certificate from Carthage College and had previously managed in the hospitality industry before joining KLF.

Timothy Semrad, CPA

Cash Applications and Accounting Manager

Tim joined KLF in 2011. He has a bachelor’s degree in Finance, a master’s degree in Accounting, and is a licensed CPA. Tim is the firm’s contact for client statements, client remittance, and accounting reporting. All consumer record posting and client remittance is handled in this department. The department also handles most facets of the secured trust account compliance procedures with oversight from the Managing Shareholder.
